Onset Financial CEO & Founder Justin Nielsen named CEO of the Year

Coming off a record-shattering year, with over half a billion dollars in new business volume, Onset Financial CEO & Founder Justin Nielsen is being recognized by Utah Business as a CEO of the Year. Nielsen also received this honor in 2020. This award honors CEOs who lead organizations with strength, courage, and endurance – making it their mission to change the way business is done in Utah.

“I am incredibly humbled to be recognized as a Utah Business CEO of the Year,” said Justin Nielsen, CEO & Founder of Onset Financial. “When I started Onset nearly 14 years ago, there was no way I could foresee the innumerable successes, challenges, and global economic events that would leadOnset to where it is today. Through it all, I am grateful that I have the phenomenal Onset team behind me, it is with their hard work that Onset continues to break records.”

2022 is proving to be another winning year for Onset Financial, already racking its funding total to nearly $100 million. The Onset team attributes this exponential growth to Nielsen’s leadership.

“Justin possesses a unique mix of talent rarely found in a single individual,” said Remington Atwood, Chief Financial Officer of Onset Financial.“He has amazing instincts and extensive knowledge of sales, documentation, credit, and legal processes – but above all, Justin’s integrity sets him apart.”

“Justin is a standout leader, there is no one like him.” said Melinda Haynes, President of Onset Financial. “He is always looking ahead, navigating incredibly complex situations, filling the room with contagious amounts of positive energy, focused on integrity, and inspiring the team to do more – proving that high goals can be set, and shattered. Justin is the leader that makes Onset so successful.”

As Onset looks forward to another record-breaking year, they continue to be committed to sharing their success with others. Giving their employees the chance to give back through their 501(c)(3) organization, Onset Gives. Onset coordinates monthly service events with charities such as the Utah Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, and Geraldine E King Women’s Center to give employees a chance to serve the community during work hours. In addition, Onset Gives continues focusing on breast cancer awareness and early detection– including multiple billboards installed along I-15 promoting screening mammograms.
